Richard Allen Means, 71, passed on October 27, 2024, in Franklin, Indiana. He was born to Roy and Betty Means on June 15, 1953, in Avon, Indiana.
After graduating from Avon High School, Richard became known for his expertise in both selling and restoring automobiles. His keen eye for detail and love for racing not only shaped his professional journey but also defined his personal interests. A true enthusiast of the sport, Richard was particularly fond of the Indianapolis 500, where he often spent time celebrating the thrill of racing.
Outside of his professional life, Richard found joy in the lively atmosphere of casinos, cherishing moments filled with excitement and camaraderie. He built connections and friendships that enriched his life, including his cherished friend, Maria from Greenfield.
Richard's legacy will live on through his beloved family. He is survived by his daughters, Brandy Wesley and Heather Means; his son, Ricky Means; and his bonus children, Tessa, Misty, and Brittany. Richard was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. His long-time partner, Debbie White-Green, stood by his side through many moments of love and adventure. Richard's loving brother, Bobby Doan of Crawfordsville, also survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Betty Means, who undoubtedly instilled in him the values of hard work and passion.
Richard Means leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories filled with laughter, love, and a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
