Richard "Rick" Cartwright Jeter 11, 58, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away unexpectadly on January 6, 2024. Rick was born on February 24, 1965, in Indianapolis, IN, to Richard and Pamela (Stevenson) Jeter. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his paternal grandparents, David and Roberta (Williams) Jeter, and maternal grandparents, Ben and
Rosemary (Hawkins) Minor, and grandmother Thelma Lusk.
Rick's family and friends were his first priority, and he was always there for them. He was known for his reliability and
willingness to lend a helping hand. When he wasn't spending time with loved ones, Rick could be found working on his
beloved Ford Mustangs. He had a passion for both vintage and current models of the iconic car.
Rick proudly served in the Airforce and retired from his military career. He dedicated himself to his service and was well-respected among his military associations
Rick attended Saint Thomas Aquinas for his primary schooling and later graduated from Bishop Chatard High School.
A memorial service to honor Rick's life will be held on January 19, 2024, from 1:00pm to 3pm at the Harry W. Moore Chapel,
located at 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN. At 2pm there will be an opportunity to hear special memories and tributes.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Leigh (Cohee) Jeter, his children Megan Jeter, Alexis Jeter, Xavier Jeter, and step-daughter Alexis Cohee, his brother Scott Jeter, Aunt Johnnie (Thompson) Manuel, a host of cousins and other relatives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
