Rhett Allen Combs
June 16, 1965 — January 28, 2021
On Thursday January 28, 2021 Rhett Allen Combs, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, passed away at age 55.
Rhett was born on June 16th, 1965 in Bloomington, Indiana. He enjoyed wrestling for Edgewood High School where he graduated in 1983. After graduation Rhett joined the United States Marine Corp. In 1986, he was a Lance Corporal (LCpl) stationed in Oceanside, California where his only daughter, Amanda, was born.
Rhett took joy in cooking for the homeless, fishing with friends and family, and being a mechanic. On a nice summer day, or evening, you might even see him at a racetrack or doing demolition derby. Rhett was known for his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Rhett is preceded in death by his mother, Patti.
He is survived by his daughter Amanda; grandson Leo; brothers, Doug (Gunilla) Combs of Florida, Dean (Paula) Combs of California, Troy (Marsha) Stickles of Bloomington, Donnie (Jada) of Texas; sisters, Cara (Kara) Combs of Indianapolis, Sara (Tamara) Combs of Kansas, Carli (Krys) Shelton of Bloomington, Brandy Stickles of Bloomington, and Heidi Stickles of Bloomington; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.
Memorial service will begin at 1:00 pm followed by military honors.
