Greenfield

Rex Allen Robinson, 69, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away after an extended illness on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Rex was born the son of Edward Alexander Robinson and Violet Sears on February 26, 1955, in Anderson, Indiana, and grew up in nearby Pendleton. He was a 1973 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School. In 1987, he married Carol Stuckey and blended their families. From Pendleton, Rex lived in Indianapolis and, most recently, Greenfield, Indiana.

Rex was a driver for Transcorr for many years before he retired.

Rex was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time hunting turkey and deer. He enjoyed trying his luck at the casino and was pretty successful at betting on the horses. He also loved spending time with his family, grandkids, great-grandkids, and friends. Depending on the day and who was around, it depended on who his "favorite" grandkid was!

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Carol, who faithfully cared for him as his health declined; his daughters Courtney (Robert) Porter, Michelle (Scott) Hettmansperger, and Angie Carrico; and son Scott Carrico. He is also survived by his brother, John Robinson of Umatilla, Florida, and sister, Marcia Guenther of Anderson, Indiana. Grandchildren: Nicole (Chris) Sharp, Kayla (Daniel) Sisson, Stephanie (Michael Russell) Annarino, Aaron (Nicole) Porter, Ashleigh (David) Doub, Jacob Porter, Cody (Sandy Kaur) Hettmansperger, Megan Porter, Ben Hettmansperger. Great Grandchildren: Lily, Hayden, Brantley Sharp, Everett, Oliver, Theo Judah Sisson, Lia, Landon Thiery, and Willow Moore.

He was preceded in death by his brother Willie (1957), Father, Ed Sr. (1981), mother, Violet (2004), brother Ed Jr. (2012), and sister-in-law Wilma (2023).

At his request, Rex will be cremated, and no services will be held. A private family celebration will take place to scatter his ashes at his favorite hunting place at a later date. Rex asked that in place of a service, friends, and family would eat at their favorite restaurant in celebration of him.
