Rebecca Ann (Brooks) Kapassakis, 71, of Camby, Indiana passed away Monday, July 10, 2023.
She was born Friday, March 14, 1952, to the late William Walter and Anna Mary (Edwards) Brooks in Hardyville, Kentucky.
Rebecca was a member of Westside Apostolic Pentecostal Church for 44 years. She was a dedicated servant for the gospel and a prayer warrior full time. Her greatest joy in life was her family, the Lord and serving others. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly and was proud of her children’s accomplishments. Rebecca was a CNA for 25 years. She loved fishing, gardening, nature, and camping. She was the original “Glamper.” She would set up her tent like she was at a hotel with all the amenities she needed for the most comfort.
Rebecca is survived by her 5 children, Brenda Boyer (John), Bill Edwards (Karen), Beth Luoma (Steve), Tina Edwards, Rachel Fischer (Josh); siblings, Carolyn Lizza, Merida Brooks, Rodonna Nail; cousin, Linda Ford (Ethel); 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and expecting one more great grandchild in September; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Kapassakis; sister, Hilda Russell; brothers, Robert Brooks, Norman Brooks, and William Brooks.
Rebecca went by many names, wife, mother, grandmother, GG, sister, cousin, Sherman, or Shermanator, but the most important name she was given was Child of God. She will be deeply missed by all who know her.
Visitation is Monday, July 17, 2023, 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Westside Apostolic Pentecostal Church, then again Tuesday, July 18, 2023, 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.
Burial to immediately follow at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
In memory of Rebecca, memorial donations can be made out to Westside Apostolic Pentecostal Church.
