Raymond Christopher Perez

Raymond Christopher Perez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, at the age of 78.

Raymond was born on September 6, 1945, in Santa Barbara, California, where he grew up and attended Carpinteria High School, excelling as an athlete and earning CIF honors in football. He later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Barbara. He served honorably in the United States Army in Germany. 

After his military service, Raymond embarked on a career at the post office. He was a devout Catholic that led charismatic prayer meetings and was an active member of the People of Praise. 

Raymond had a generous spirit, a kind heart, and an infectious laugh. He was a gifted watercolor artist and poet. He was passionate about history, jazz music,  nature, and our Lord. As a lifelong USC football fan, he never missed a game. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 9:30 am at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church. The Funeral, including the Rosary, Eulogy, and Mass will begin at 10am with a reception to follow.
