Raymond L. Jarrell, 80, passed away on May 2, 2021.
He was born in Mobile, Alabama on September 25, 1940.
Raymond was a faithful follower of our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. He loved God and lived out his life in that way. Raymond was an avid reader of the Bible. His closest friends and family spent many hours sipping coffee and discussing favorite Bible passages. He truly was a man who had the sweetest soul.
Raymond grew up in Mobile, Alabama where he worked for the family construction business where his knowledge of machines began. Raymond spent 4 years in the United States Navy. Ray loved talking about his time in the Navy.
Raymond worked many years for and retired from S. Cohn & Sons as a heavy equipment welder.
He was a man who delighted in time spent with family and you could frequently find him throughout the years at both his kids and his grandkids sporting events. He also loved to sing and listen to bluegrass music.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Vinton Jarrell, daughters Stephanie (George) Darroch, Shannon (Andy) Akers and son Doug (Brooke) Vinton; grandchildren Jacinthe Jarrell, Theda McPeek, Frank J (Tiffani Stuart) Moussette, Natalie Vinton, Amelia Vinton, Andrew Vinton, Alexander Vinton, and great-granddaughter Artemis Moussette. He is also survived by his brother Terry (Rita) Jarrell of McMinnville, Tennessee, and sisters Virginia (Billy) Pitts of Saraland, Alabama, and Gerri (Marvin) Martin of Daphne, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Ruby Jarrell.
Burial and memorial services to be held on May 8 in McMinnville, Tennessee at the family cemetery.
