Roy (Ray) Moore passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 24, 2020 at the age of 76.
He was the son of Troy and Lola (Byars) Moore. He was preceded in death by both parents, 1 sister, and 3 brothers.
He leaves behind his children both adopted and biological: Gwendolyn (Joe) Bell, Ernestine Moore, Kevin (Jada) McClinton and Tashi Kyle; grandchildren Raven (Elijah) Staley, Rhory, Rian, Brandon, Neko, Cirrocco, Madisin, Si'ara, Destiny, Kevin Jr., Kyan, Kaleea, Amiya, Davion and Leilani; siblings James Moore, Lessie Gay (Curtis), Tommie Lewis, Ida Moore, Al Moore, Pearl Bradshaw (Herbert), and Gwendolyn Moore; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ray grew up in Sayler Park and graduated from Central High School in 1962. He obtained a master's degree in education and taught for over 20 years. He service in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran.
He had a passion for woodwork and was an incredible craftsman. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and wisdom with the next generation. He will be dearly missed.
