Ray Lawrence Maurer

Ray Maurer, retired Director of Surveillance and Vietnam War Veteran, died Sunday April 16, 2023. He was 76 years old. 

Ray was born, Ray Lawrence Maurer, in 1947 in Pennsylvania, to parents Ray and Geraldine Maurer.

Ray had a passion for history, animals, and motorcycles. His daughter, Michelle, has fond memories of her very first ride on the back of his Kawasaki in Los Angeles, Ca. That was the beginning of many motorcycle rides they had together.

Family and friends are deeply saddened by his death and remember Ray as a kind person who was always willing to help others. Those who knew him acknowledge that you had to have a sharp mind to keep up with his quick wit and sense of humor. His ability to make others laugh will surely be missed.

He is survived by his only daughter, Michelle Guzman. His beloved wife, Cathy Maurer, died in 2013.

Ray will be laid to rest at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 12th at Salem Cemetery in Klingerstown, PA.
