Ramon Garcia Jr., 63, of Fountaintown, Indiana died peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 with family by his side. Ramon was a 11-year survivor of cancer which was found when he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He had brain cancer at the beginning of his diagnosis and was healed from that. He also found out in April 2020 his lung cancer was in remission.
Born on Monday, January 21, 1957 to Ramon and Emilia (Soto) Garcia in San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised in the US Virgin Islands by Juan and Gloria Acosta after his mother died when he was 17 years old. In 1986 he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to better his life. It was here that he married and had his first baby girl in 1988. He later divorced and met his current spouse and had two more daughters in 1995 and 1998. His girls and grandchildren were the most important part of his life. He was a loving husband, devoted father, a loving grandfather and amazing friend. He didn’t know a stranger! He loved gardening, being outdoors, playing horseshoes, fishing, and was always cooking something and feeding the whole neighborhood. He never let anyone go hungry. He loved God and always ministered to his girls.
He is survived by his wife, Edwina Pierson; his children, Emilianna Garcia, Victoria Osborne and her husband Tony, Olivia Garcia; grandchildren, Liam Osborne, Lucas Osborne; siblings, Jorge Estien, Carmen Acosta, Hector Acosta, Juan Acosta, Benedicta Acosta-Donastorg, Samuel Acosta and Iris Magras; and many nieces and nephews who really loved him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Emilia Estien; father, Ramon Garcia and brother, Jose “Ringking” Quinonez; and sister in law Bessie Estien.
Visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46143.
Memorial service will begin at 1:00 pm.
