Phebe Anna (Schnepf, Wilson) Roberts, 82, of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023. She was born on May 1, 1941, to the late Dorothy (Kysar) Schnepf and Herman Schnepf in Paris Crossing, IN. She later lived in Seymour, IN, South Pasadena, CA and then Indianapolis, IN.

She graduated from Seymour High School in 1959. She married Arnold Wilson in 1959 and remarried Bernard Roberts, who preceded her in death. They were married for 35 years.

Phebe was a loving big sister to two brothers, the late Chris (Christian) W. Schnepf and the late Chuck (Charles) Schnepf. She is survived by her daughters Jodi (Ron) Wilson Pitcock of Greenwood, IN, Jennifer (Simon) Roberts Jorgenson of Burlington, VT, son Kyle Wilson of Los Angeles, CA and late son Rod Wilson. Phebe was called “Nana” by her grandchildren, Haleigh Pitcock, Courtney Macias, Fatima Iwasaki, Nathalie Levin, Blake Wilson, Aven Jorgenson and Asa Jorgenson and great-grandchildren Mason Brennan, Teagan Macias and Daron Levin. She was “Aunt Phebe” to Brian Schnepf and Chad Schnepf.

Lovingly known as “PB” to many, Phebe provided both in-home childcare and worked in a daycare setting for many years. Ever the helper, in addition to caring for young children, Phebe was often a classroom mom, volunteer art docent, school lunch lady, Girl Scout leader and informally helped many friends, family, and neighbors in so many ways over the years.

She was very involved with the Lupus Support Group and volunteered for the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Phebe attended Southport Baptist Church most of her life and was a parent leader of the church’s youth group for several years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, 2433 E, Main St., Greenwood, IN on Saturday, January 13, 2024, with visitation from 12-2pm and a Storytelling memorial period from 2-3pm. Please consider sharing your memories of Phebe.

A message from her family: Mom’s battle with dementia lasted several years. We would like to thank the staff of The Waters of Martinsville, the staff of The Wellington of Southport for their combined care over the past year and a half. ANEW Hospice provided her loving and compassionate care and immeasurable support to family for the past nine months.
