Peggy L. Chastain

Peggy L Chastain, 63, of Greencastle, IN; a hard working, "no nonsense", firecracker, loving mother of three (plus all of their friends) has taken her reservation with the Lord. Her life revolved around being a G-ma to her three grandbabies and one grandpuppy. She fulfilled her time working to help others, including Family Support Services and Putnamville Prison. We will greatly miss her mom jokes, her constant love for family & friends and taking the grandkids on scooter rides.

She is preceded in death by her father Leondard (Ruby) Austin, brother Mike Austin and sister Shirley Stevens. She is survived by her three children; Alicia (Rich) Shamel & their three children (Draiden, Keegan & Tristan), Olivia Chastain and Jacob Chastain. As well as her sister Rita Wooldridge & kids Jamie (and family) and Krissy (and family).

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday September 4, 2021 from 11:00am-2:00pm. Location is Peggy's favorite, The Putnam Inn (400 N Jackson St, Greencastle, IN 46135).

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for the grandkids' college fund at Teacher's Credit Union (57 Putnam Plaza Greencastle, IN 46135). In care of Olivia Chastain; Shamel Boys College Fund.
