Pearl Dorothy Niehaus, 95, passed away after a short illness on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Rose Senior Living where she resided for over two years.
She was born August 12, 1929, to Karl Hermann Breitenfeld and Dora Emma Frenzl Breitenfeld. They together raised her and her four brothers; Marvin (predeceased along with his wife, Helen), Howard (Jackie), Richard (Judy) and Robert (predeceased wife, Karen) in St. Louis, Missouri.
Pearl and Herman (predeceased) married on September 30, 1950, and traveled a great deal as Herman was a first baseman for the Milwaukee Braves. Pearl had two children, Eric John (predeceased) and Peter Ross.
Pearl is survived by the apple of her eye, her only grandson, Nickolas Robert Niehaus, who iis in his final year of law school at IU McKinney. Nick and his grandma spent countless hours talking sports and politics.
Pearl was a practicing Catholic and had attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Our Lady of Grace. She also enjoyed her grandson's church, Northview at the Carmel campus. Pearl loved to exercise and play golf and even when she couldn't play golf, she loved to walk. In her younger years, she played tennis at the Carmel Racquet Club regularly. She was an avid reader until her eyesight no longer permitted an spent countless hours at the library. Pearl volunteered at Riverview and St. Vincent North's hospital gift shop delivering flowers and moving patients. Pearl loved to laugh with her friends and family.
