Pauline Howell Kolmer was born, Pauline Wharton. She was born on October 16, 1927, in South Bend, IN to William and Mildred Wharton. She married her high school sweet heart, Benny M Howell, to whom she was married for 58 years until he passed away in December of 2005. Upon Ben’s retirement they moved to Fairfield Glade, TN. Pauline was an avid golfer, member of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, volunteered at church, Habitat for Humanity and various other organizations.
Pauline, at the age of 85, got remarried to Paul Kolmer and they enjoyed the companionship of each other for over six years until Paul’s passing in February of 2019. We were grateful that Paul’s family (Karen & Randy Siebert, Lois & Mike Parker & Karl and Val Kolmer), embraced our mother into their family.
Pauline is survived by daughters, Pam (Bruce) Bender and Kim (Ronnie) Thrasher as well as sons Scott (Jennifer) Howell and Shawn (Rhonda) Howell. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Monica (Rory) Phillips, Benjamin Howell, Ryan (Carrie) Henson , Stephanie (Tyler) Barrett, Allison Howell, and Jason (Heather) Thrasher, and six great grandchildren: Grayson & Rhett Phillips, Carl & Casey Henson, and Isabella & Benjamin Thrasher. She is survived by a brother, Jim (Ann) Wharton, and sister, Mary Jo (Dave) Weddle.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William & Mildred Wharton, husband, Benny M Howell, a son Randolph Howell, and brothers, Bill, Dale, and Paul (twin brother) Wharton.
A Memorial Service will be held at White River Christian Church, 1685 N 10th St. in Noblesville IN, on February 5, 2022. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 and the Memorial Service will be at 12:00.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory. Donations can be made on line @ alz.org or mailed to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington D.C. 20090-6011.
