Paul E. Dixon, 89, passed away at home with his unfailing faith to be with our Lord.
He was born in Anderson, IN. to James Paul and Bessie LaVaughn (Campbell) Dixon. Paul attended Roosevelt grade school and grew up to be a proud Navy Veteran from April 1st 1952 - March 30th 1956. He spent time in SanDiego, CA and Whidbey Island, WA. He worked as an aircraft - engine - mechanic apprentice. There he received a national defense service medal and a good conduct medal. Later he worked at Delco Remy and retired after 37 years.
Dad was a wonderful christian who attended Lone Oak Wesleyan Church as a board member, youth leader, and superintendent. A church that he helped build and expand, It was truly a second home to him over the years. He also led several mission trips to Mexico to help rebuild schools, houses and churches.
Paul is survived by his wife Erma Jean (Blair) Dixon; daughters Kathy Jean (Dixon) and Chuck Wainscott, Lori Lee Dixon, Rosie LaVaughn (Dixon) Beane; wonderful grandchildren Brandon A. (Danielle) Dashler, Dustin D. Wainscott, Kelsi L. Dashler, Emily N. Dashler, Lynsey L. Beane, Joshua C. E. Beane, Peyton J. Heath; and six wonderful great grandchildren. Paul is also survived by his sister Sara Thompson of Jacksonville Florida.
Paul was proceeded in death by his parent's James Paul and Bessy LaVaughn Dixon. His son's Jeffrey P Dixon, Ricky K Dixon, and son in law Martin E Beane. His brothers Melvin Dixon and James Jr Dixon and sister Betty Dixon O'Dowd.
Paul's service will be at Lone Oak Wesleyan Church in Anderson, Indiana, Friday March 24th. Visitation is 11-1, service will be 1-2. Paul will be laid to rest at Anderson Memorial Park.
