Patrick Vincent Mattingly, 60, passed peacefully at his Bargersville home, surrounded by family and so much love. He fought his battle with Leukemia with strength, courage, and grace.
Patrick married the love of his life, Laurel, June 29, 2018. They had dated as teenagers, but life happened, and they went their separate ways. God's timing is always perfect, and it was finally their time. Short as it was, it was filled with love, laughs, and adventure.
Patrick was very much a multi-dimensional man. He was a chef by trade, but also was a drone enthusiast, and built his own aerial photography business a few years ago. He loved food, music, fishing, and riding his Harley, Libby. He was very creative and artistic. He was smart, caring, kind, generous, and so funny. He also had great faith and love in the Lord.
Patrick proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1987 where he was a canon crewman. He achieved the rank of sergeant with numerous commendations and medals. He particularly enjoyed his time in Korea.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Laurel; his sister, Jane; his brothers, William, Thomas, and Casey; and his son, Ryan. He came from a very large Catholic family, and there are numerous cousins and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents William Ralph and Mary Jane, and also his younger brother Andrew.
A memorial service will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, 2433 East Main St. in Greenwood on March 29, 2022. Visitation will be from 3PM to 5PM, with the service beginning at 5PM.
