Patricia Rose Koons

Patricia Rose “Law” Koons passed away at her home January 14, 2021 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born April 27, 1933 to the late Harold and Audrey Law, preceding in her death were her 3 brothers Jim Eusey , Donald Eusey , and Richard Law and she is survived by her sister Marilyn (Delbert) Davis living in South Carolina. She was raised in Castleton Indiana and graduated from Lawrence High School. She married Bill Downard shortly after graduating and had 5 beautiful children. Marsha her oldest daughter preceded in her death along with her husband Tim, Anita (Dane) Darlene (Robert) Ronald (Justine) and Ted ( Debra). She later married Richard Koons who passed away many years ago. She worked in retail at Dorothy’s Dress Shop and later at Abigals Bridal Shop. She loved working and meeting new people! Pat’s greatest accomplishment was being a Mom to her 5 children and then later a grandmother to 13 grandchildren. She was also blessed to 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter . Her grandchildren were such a joy and always brought happiness to her. She loved family get togethers and all the good food that was prepared for them. She loved to travel and enjoyed her Mother / daughter trips with her 3 girls. Pat was an avid reader until her eyesight got so bad she couldn’t read anymore. She was a member of Castleton Methodist Church and over a 50 year Eastern Star member. She was a sweet, strong, faithful, loving Mom who also had a funny and adventurous side! Family was the most important thing to her and she always wanted for everyone to love each other. Her favorite quote was "This too shall pass." She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
