Norman Ray Heitlauf, age 88, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away at 7:47 a.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born to the late Raymond Heitlauf and Helen Lucille (Clark) Hogrewe on August 26, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Norman was united in marriage on August 9, 1958 to Joetta Richardson in Louisville, Kentucky. He worked as a pattern maker for over 25 years at Navistar, retiring in 1993. Norman enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing solitaire on his computer. He was a talented woodworker and built his own workshop and made household decor.
Norman is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joetta Heitlauf; his daughters, Teresa Middendorf and her significant other Ken and Tammy Gannon and her husband Pat; and his sisters, Rose Wegner and Dorothy Shepherd. As well as 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Norman is preceded in death by his brother Robert Heitlauf and son Stephen Kirchner.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
