Nancy J Carter, 68 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2021. Nancy was born on December 27, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Rose E. and Burton J. Carter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Burton Carter; her brother, Robert Scott Carter; and grandchild, Tony.
She loved when she became a Grannie and Grandma. Nancy often reminisced about her childhood and the love her parents and grandparents poured over she and her brother as children.
Nancy earned an associate degree from Indiana University. For over 20 years, she proudly served as a substitute and special education teacher's assistant for Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS). For fun, Nancy enjoyed collecting frogs and owls. She also had beautiful handwriting and regularly journaled about her devotion to Jesus. Throughout her life, Nancy enjoyed friendships made from her high school days at Thomas Carr Howe High School, through her career with IPS, at Word of Faith Christian Church, and through the church home of her youth, Meadlawn Christian Church. Nancy often teased with others in a fun-loving way. She always said she really liked you if she had a pet name for you or was knowing of hers.
