Nancy Carol Bowman was called home by God on Sunday, October 10, 2021. She was born on September 26, 1943 to the late William Dexter Biggers and Mary Lena (Humes) Biggers at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was raised in the Fountain Square area and attended Harry E. Wood High School. She was a licensed cosmetologist who ran her own beauty salon for many years. She enjoyed trivia, playing games, and spending time with her family.
She married the love of her life, Oscar Bowman on February 5, 1961. Together they built a devoted family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. As the matriarch of the family, she leaves behind many beautiful memories and a legacy of a life well lived.
Nancy was a member of Grace Assembly of God Church in New Whiteland, IN. She and Oscar faithfully served the church as deacons, small group leaders, and greeters. They also felt blessed to support grieving families by serving meals after funeral services.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents William Dexter and Mary Biggers, and brother Wayne Biggers.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Oscar Bowman, daughter Rita Richardson, son Mark (Tina) Bowman, granddaughters Alana (Sergio) Solano, Jennifer (Jose Angel) Solano, Gina Mullis, great grandchildren Ezequiel (Meghan) Solano, Isabel Solano, Nydia Solano, Olivia Solano, and Ezra Solano. She was eagerly anticipating the birth of her first great great grandson that we affectionately call Nugget.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, October 16, 2021 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Grace Assembly Of God, Whiteland, Indiana.
Memorial service will begin at noon.
