We regretfully announce the passing of Monte W Jones AKA Pops, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones on March 22, 2021. Monte had a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer and is finally at rest.
Monte was born on June 10, 1949 to Joseph Harold and Rosa Jane Jones in Muncie Indiana. He was a hardworking father of four and an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. After 21 years of service, Staff Sargent Monte Jones retired from the military and opened a muffler shop in Anderson with his lifelong best friend Carson Humes. In addition to being a dedicated father and friend, Pops loved NASCAR and was an unwavering Tony Stewart fan.
Monte was a loving father to his four surviving children: Missy Bernius of Greenwood, Jonny (Kelsey) Jones of Greenfield, Joseph Jones of Alexandria, and Monte (Tasha) Jones of Elwood, and a loving grandfather to his seven grandchildren. He will be forever loved and forever remembered.
No services will take place, as Monte requested, but we do appreciate your love and support during this difficult time.
