Mona L. (Beckner) Rash of Franklin, Indiana passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Otterbein Senior Life.
She was born on Friday, February 16, 1940 in Bert, Ky to Walton E. Beckner and Lella M. (Williams) Beckner.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walton and Lella Beckner and her sister Carolyn S. (Beckner) Hamblin.
She is survived by her husband, James R. (Bob) Rash, daughters Jenny S. Bullock (Paul) and Julia A. Hopkins (David) her brother Dr. W. Thomas Beckner ( Beverly). Her 11 Grandchildren, Chasity Shidler (Aaron), Brandi Bullock, Anna Meyer (Brian), J.D. Hopkins (Kimmi), Jenna Burns (Taylor), Chad Hopkins (Lydia), Sarah Hopkins, Felicia Hopkins, Macy Thompson (Bradley), Celia Dillard, Christian Hopkins, and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Mona was a born again Christian and her life style showed it. She moved to Hamilton, Ohio when she was 3 years old, and attended the N. 7th Street Church of Christ. She attended Hamilton public schools graduating from Hamilton High in 1958. She then went to Milligan College where she met her husband Bob. They were married on September 2, 1960. The first of their daughters, Jenny, was born December 7, 1961 and Julia was born April 16, 1966.
She was a great Mother to her girls raising them up in the Church and into a relationship with Christ. She and her husband were instrumental in the beginnings of 3 Christian churches in Butler County, Ohio. She taught Sunday School, VBS and directed several VBS. She loved to sing and had a lovely singing voice and was a member of several singing groups. Mona's ministry was Hospitality, she was always cooking for someone or some family, and if we had a visiting minister or family Mona was the first to open up her home to house them. Mona loved the Lord and his people.
In her later years Mona loved to travel and dote on her Grandchildren and later her Great Grandchildren.
