Mimose Francois

Mimose Francois, 49, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024. She was born on May 1, 1975 to Suzannie Debrosse and Louis Francois in La Gonave, Haiti. At the age of 2 she moved to Port au Prince, Haiti with her mother. This is where she attended school and lived until she moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 2007, as an adult. She relocated with her two children to Indianapolis in 2018 on the advice of a friend and worked for Ceva Logistics in Plainfield, Indiana until her death.

Mimose knew how to enjoy the little things in life. She was joyous and happy and loved spending time among God’s creation on the beach and at a zoo or aquarium. She took pride in her cooking and when at Mimi’s you could plan on a good meal. Most importantly, she loved her kids and put them above everything else. She set an example for them with her strong work ethic and positive attitude. She was a kind, gentle spirit who was thoughtful and giving, thinking of others before herself. 

Mimose was a woman of faith who relied upon God to give her strength and guidance throughout her life and as she battled cancer. It was with this faith that she entrusted God to lead her home to him during her final days.

Mimose is survived by her sons, Peterson Gaston and Jaden Gaston. She is survived by her father Louis Francois (Marie Bazil), sisters Jeanna Jean, Magdala Jean, Suze Tania Jean, Elaine Francois, Betty Francois and brothers, Isaac Jean and Samuel Jean, Willy Francois, Louismare Francois, Sancois Francois, Lamare Francois, and Francis Bazil and uncle Rosevelt Francois. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Suzannie Debrosse of Port au Prince, Haiti.

Funeral services will be held at Indiana Funeral Care – Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis IN 46250. Visitation will be on Friday, July 12th from 10am to 11am, with a funeral service beginning at 11am. She will then be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222.
