Miguelina ‘Lina’ Mercado, of Avon, passed away on January 22, 2020.
She was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, on May 19, 1945 to Francisco Perez Velasquez and Carmen Perez Gomez.
Lina loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking, dancing, and playing Bingo.
She is survived by her children, Jose L. (Jennifer), Sylvia (Nelson), and Eric (Aracelis); her sister, Carmen Julia Perez; grandchildren, Natalie, Edward, Andy, Erica, Jonathan, Bryan, Danny, Gabriel, and Yansell; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; nephews and nieces, Rosie, Antonio, Nelson, and Javier; and many other family members and friends.
Lina was preceded in death by her husband, Jose L. Mercado; her parents; her sister, Marisol Bruni Perez; and her great nephew, Tonito Velez.
A private service was held last week at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W Moore Chapel.
