Michel Leigh Perusse

Michel Leigh Perusse of Carmel, passed away February 6th.
Born October 31, 1969 in Neuberge, Germany, Michel lead a life of travel and discovery. She grew up in California, Colorado and Indiana. Most of Michel’s school age years her family lived in Vail, Colorado which she always considered her home. After graduating from North Central High School, Indianapolis she returned to Vail for an active mountain life while working both in real estate and media. Her great love of travel took her to Europe, Asia and Central America. Her next adventure was motherhood, in 2003 she gave birth to daughter Zoe, who was not only her greatest gift but her sole focus for the last 16 years. In 2013 Michel returned to Indianapolis with her daughter to be close to family. She was constantly researching & learning about all types of things, from music & nature to science, most recently searching for answers & information relating to her health struggles. Michel leaves her daughter Zoe, 16 of Carmel, mother Pia "Patti" Morgaine of Colorado, father Mark Benham (Suzanne), Fishers, & grandmother Alta Benham Coplen, Indianapolis. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will miss her smile, her adventurous spirit & infectious laugh.
A gathering will be held 11 A.M. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:30.
