Michael Thomas Seifert, 82, of New Palestine, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2021 surrounded by his children.
He was born October 7, 1938 to the late Leo and Clara Seifert. Mike graduated New Palestine High School in 1956. He followed his father and elder brothers' footsteps, becoming a union pipefitter with local #440 in 1965. He retired from Ford Motor Company in January 2000 and enjoyed over 20 years of retirement. He was always grateful and gracious. He will forever be remembered by his soft heart, strong work ethic, and love of baseball.
Surviving Michael are his children; Rebecca (Mark) Myer, Elizabeth Stewart, Joseph (Melissa) Seifert, and Susannah Seifert, his grandchildren; Joseph, Macy, Morgan and Ashley, his step-children; Balynda Witt, Tammy Latham, Shannon (Tony)Carr, Edith (Norm)Ege and his ten step-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters in law, Darlene and Faustine Seifert and many neices and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his wives; Beverly Seifert in 2007 and Sandy (Jackson)Seifert, the mother of his children, in 2004. His brothers; Joseph (Mardenna), Bernard, and John Seifert, and his sisters; Mary (George) Willman, Anna (Don)Breunig, Kay (Rex)Ellis, and Carolyn (Lefty)McKeeman also preceded him in death along with his parents.
Arrangements as follows, Wednesday September 1, 2021 Visitation 10am St. Michaels Church, Greenfield, 11am Mass with burial immediately following at New Palestine Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
