Michael "Mike" Ray Faulkenberg

December 28, 1957 — November 12, 2020

Michael “Mike” Ray Faulkenberg, 62, passed away peacefully in his home on November 12, 2020. His children were by his side. Mike bravely endured health issues for many years and was a true fighter though it all. He will now be at peace.

Mike was a true Hoosier, born in Tell City, raised on Vine Street in Plainfield and resided in Indianapolis. He was a graduate of Plainfield High School. He was a long-time salesman, mostly in the trucking industry, until retiring in 2013. Mike loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and the Butler Bulldogs. He was involved in Cub Scouts with his Father as a child. He loved the many dogs he owned throughout his life. Mike was an avid supporter of community sports, coaching many teams throughout the years. He coached every one of his children’s teams. His proudest accomplishment was his two children, Lindsay and Ross. He was a trivia nut and hardly ever missed an episode of Jeopardy. He also enjoyed cars, music, cheeseburgers and root beer. Many will remember his amazing sense of humor, something he had until the end.

Mike was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Esther Faulkenberg, and his sister Linda. He is survived by his children, Lindsay (Josh) Scott and Ross Faulkenberg (Gabrielle Albright); mother of his children and wife for 30 years Venetia Faulkenberg; sister Sherry (Jeff) Wade and Denise Nickels and his best friend Robert Wilson. He will always be Uncle Mike to his nieces and nephews – Jake (Andrea) Wade and their children Nolan, Landon and Mira; Shelby Wade; Melissa Ridenour; Annee Ridenour (Eric Fish) and their son Wyatt; Josh (Lindsay) Andrews and their children, Chad (Emily) Andrews, and Cole and Carson Crimmins; as well as other members of the Faulkenberg and Andrews families and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the following organizations in order to continue Mike’s love for supporting his children’s passion – Kids’ Voice of Indiana (kidsvoicein.org), a non-profit where his daughter Lindsay serves as the President/CEO or Decoding Dyslexia Oregon (decodingdyslexiaor.org), a non-profit where his son Ross serves as the Board President.
