Michael James Chalfant
June 11, 1962 — March 6, 2021
Michael James Chalfant, 58, of Seminoles, Florida and a native of Anderson, Indiana, went to be with his Lord on March 6, 2021 after a long battle with diabetes.
After a year of social distancing, he was anticipating going to church again.
He joined the Navy in 1981, serving through 1987, and was stationed on the USS Lynde McCormick. Michael was a Gunner's Mate 3rd Class, who performed important maintenance on weapons systems.
He is survived by his brother, David; sisters, Susan and Machell; and brother, Danny Frazier.
A graveside service will be held at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, March 22 at 1 p.m. Family and friends who knew him are encouraged to attend to say goodbye. Military honors will be performed by the US Navy.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Michael's memory to Operation Live Ministries, P.O. Box 917, Anderson, IN 46015.
