Michael Oliver Jackson born June 11, 1952 in Martinsville Indiana to Clark O. Jackson and Jennie C. Nannes Jackson Hofer passed away peacefully in his residence of Paragon on May 15. The last 24 hours of his life he was surrounded by family.
Michael attended Spencer High School and in 1972 he joined the United States Navy. After his service he became a truck driver. He loved his hauls to Florida, jamming down the interstate, pedal to the medal and stopping at the beach, chilling and listening to his idol, Elvis Presley. He had several CB handles like, Face, MO Jackson and Stonewall. He also enjoyed basketball, football, Nascar, scary movies and sitting on his porch with his dog Harley Jean.
In 1971 he married Kathleen Heagy and to them born 3 children. In 1984 he married Kathy Jean Hovious. He stayed by her side till she passed in 2015. Michael is survived by his 3 children Christina Bell, Jesse Jackson, Angela Gillin and step daughter Kimberly Clouse. Nine grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Two sisters Cynthia Russell (Roger), Melinda Emmert (Jeff) and brother Mark Hofer. Along with several nieces and nephews, ex wife Kathleen and extended family.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Clark Jackson, Jennie and step father Edward Hofer, wife Kathy Jackson, brother Roger Jackson and son in law Glenn L. Terrell.
Michael is to be cremated and the family will announce a celebration of life at a later time.
