Michael J Payton

Michael J Payton 65, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. Michael was born on October 27, 1955 to the late James and Pauline Payton.
Michael attended Indianapolis Public Schools. After he graduated, he worked for the Indiana Riviera Club for many years as a Chef. His best meal to cook for the family was fried potatoes and onions. His hobbies included Church, watching a good Lifetime movie, and visiting with his grandkids. Michael did a complete turnaround the last 20 years by joining the Church, really enjoying time with his family and giving and receiving love. He also often loved a nice drive in his truck, which he loved so much.
Michael is proceeded in death by his brother, Curtis Payton.
He is survived by his daughter, Demetria (Derreck) McCauley; sisters, Cassandra Payton, Joyce Payton, Paula (Kenney) Brown, Leanita Payton; aunts, Christine, Charlene, and Bernice; grandchildren, Da’veon West and Don-Yae William; and greatgrandchildren, Maci Faulkner, Ahbrielle Richardson and Angelique Mathews.
