MERLIN SMITH GREGSON, 80, BORN FEBRUARY 4, 1940 WENT TO HIS HEAVENLY HOME ON FEBRUARY 26, 2020.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE WANDA, SONS, JEFF (LEDANA) GREGSON, BRAD (JESSICA) GREGSON. TWO GRANDCHILDREN, BRIANNA (JOE) SCHULTZ AND BRAXTON GREGSON. THREE GREAT GRANDDAUGHTERS, KAYLYNN, JOANNA AND JADE SCHULTZ. BROTHERS, JOHN (LOIS) GREGSON, MARSHALL GREGSON. SISTER-IN-LAW, KATHY GREGSON. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, HAROLD AND BERTHA GREGSON AND BROTHER, PAUL GREGSON. HE WILL ALSO BE MISSED BY MANY OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS.

MERLIN ACCEPTED THE LORD AS HIS PERSONAL SAVIOR AND WAS A MEMBER OF GRAY ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH. HE ENJOYED WORKING WITH THE MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP AND ALSO SERVED AS AN USHER AND GREETER IN HIS CHURCH.
HE RETIRED FROM ELI LILLY AND ENJOYED TRAVELING DURING HIS WORKING YEARS AND RETIREMENT.

HE LOVED TO PLAN HIS VACATIONS EVEN SEVERAL YEARS IN ADVANCE. MERLIN’S HOBBY/PASSION WAS SPORTS. AFTER RETIREMENT HE WORKED AS ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FOR SOUTHPORT MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
HE ESPECIALLY ENJOYED THE FLORIDA GATORS FOOTBALL. HE COULD TELL YOU ALMOST ANYTHING ABOUT SPORTS PAST AND PRESENT. HE ALSO READ MULTIPLE NEWSPAPERS DAILY AND LOVED TO READ MANY AT DIFFERENT LIBRARIES.
MERLIN WAS A VERY PRIVATE PERSON, WITH A VERY GENEROUS HEART. HE BELIEVED THE LORD’S WORK IS VITAL THROUGH THE CHURCH AND MISSIONARIES.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, MARCH 6 AT 7 PM, VIEWING AT 6 PM AT GRAY ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH, 5500 S GRAY ROAD, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46237.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS DONATIONS CAN BE MADE TO GRAY ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH AND NEEDS TO BE DESIGNATED AS GREGSON-MISSIONARIES. (IF YOU PREFER, ONLINE GIVING IS AVAILABLE)
