Melvin Robbins

Indianapolis

Melvin (Mel) Jesse Robbins passed in his home on April 13, 2023, just 10 days shy of his 66th birthday.  He was born on April 23, 1956 in Kokomo IN the son of Dwight and Betty Robbins.


Mel was a devoted husband of 29 years to his wife Sabrina (Grover) Robbins.  Mel had a heart full of love for his sisters, Linda Cass (Les) and Wanda Hoover (Ned); sister-in-law, Holly Acosta (Sergio); his daughter, Jessica Robbins; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and mother-in-law who held his hand through this journey.


Mel was the proud owner of MJ Robbins Construction, where he had rewarding work for over 35 years. Mel was an insurance restoration expert like no other. He enjoyed helping people and made many friends through his work over the years. He started as a child working in his father's lumber yard. After college, he went into insurance before forming his own company.
Mel is remembered for his love of life, deep faith, integrity, an infectious laugh, and deep love of his wife and with 3 amazing German Shepherds.  The lake was his happy place and he enjoyed having friends and family visit where he could be the ultimate host.
