Melisa Dawn Sopke, 53, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021.
She was born on Thursday, July 25, 1968 in Bremerton, Washington. Melisa grew up in Indianapolis most of her life. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved singing and music. Some of her favorites were classic rock, and Christian music. She was also an incredibly talented painter. She created many paintings over the years, many of flowers, trees, and nature. She loved animals of all types; she especially enjoyed the beauty of butterflies.
Melisa is survived by her mother, Teresa J. (Widman) Sopke; siblings, Chriss Sopke Sr. and his wife Kristi, Nathaniel Sopke, Ruth Smith; nieces and nephews, Christopher Sopke Jr., Kristiana Sopke and Karl “JW” Sopke.
She is preceded in death by her father, Daniel W. Sopke.
Melisa was fearless and you had to admire her tenacity. When she loved, she loved deeply. She would do anything she could for you or others. She never hid her emotions and was not afraid to say what was on her mind. She was the most loyal person you knew.
Melisa you will be forever in our hearts.
Visitation is Friday, December 3, 2021 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.
Funeral service will begin at 5:30 pm.
Burial will follow on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, Indiana.
