Mary Patricia Kelly

Patricia Kelly (Mary Patricia Slattery) of Chicago, Northbrook, IL and Carmel, IN slipped out of our sight on August 3, 2020 after 82 years. Her days were filled with family and friends talking, listening and laughing. She loved her golf Wednesdays, reading, music and exploring something new. Her lifelong passions included oil and watercolor painting, her many gardens and being a cheerleader for all our sports and events.

Patricia was ever planning the next adventure with her dear husband Bob Kelly. He once described that when Pat is around, something exciting is sure to happen. She missed him greatly when he died in 2010 as she did her beloved son Bobby.

Summers included family car trips, food, drink and conversation on the deck amidst flowers and bird feeders. There was always room for one more member of our extended family at the dinner table especially on holidays. Serious topics of the day were welcomed. Good humor and kind words were plentiful.

Always in her heart were her sisters Sharon and Lou Brand, Kathleen and Richard Nelson, Genevieve Shanklin, Suzanne Slattery and her many nieces and nephews.

She gave us, her children and grandchildren, all of this. We knew devotion to family and were encouraged to find our own satisfaction in life. She will always be a part of who we are.

Rather than flowers, donations to Alzheimers Association or Arthritis Foundation would be welcomed. No funeral is planned at this time due to Covid-19.
