Mary Marie DeVore, 58 years, went peacefully to her Home with the Lord on Monday, December 7th. She was born September 25th to her loving parents Phyllis E. DeVore and Joseph H. (Sherry) DeVore, who survive. Mary’s lifelong commitment to her faith and beliefs sustain her now and forever.
There was definitely Something About Mary! She had a kind and thoughtful heart that touched many, and she was generous beyond measure. She was Fun! Her sense of humor was infectious, her “take” on most things insightful. Crossing her was a dangerous venture but she forgave easily and completely. Eventually…
She was a talented photographer and captured people and animals and nature as only an artist is able. She loved anything with wheels, she loved rocks and birds and trees and flowers, small engines challenged her, and she was resourceful and inventive as well. She enjoyed both cooking and baking, sewing and crafts. She loved the March Madness events, the Indianapolis 500 and the whole month of May, a bit of Nascar, The Masters, the NFL, MLB but mostly the Little League Playoffs, all Horse racing but especially the Triple Crown, All Things Mickey Mouse…and All of you who embraced and supported her. Her favorite Sport was planning and executing Parties. And Events.
She was a graduate of John Marshall High 1980 and Ball State University1986. Her career highlights were mostly in sales positions and she excelled. Her favorite job of them all was delivering flowers.
She was The Queen of “Pools” and, for the most part with her Co-heart Tina, executed them flawlessly. She gambled, she won. And when she didn’t, she knew she would again. And win she did, until she didn’t anymore…
To forever cherish the memory of the Strongest Spirit we will All ever have is her partner Lee Anne, her siblings Joe (Susan), Theresa (Danny), Tom and Angie; The “Kids” she adored, Mitch, (Liz) Maddie (Brian), Daniel, Thomas, Ryan, Kate, Lucy, Max, and Henry. Her stepsisters are Kim, Karen (Tom) and Krista (Chad).
Final Arrangements are pending. A Celebration of Life will absolutely happen when it can. Memorial Contributions may be made to Fletcher Place Community Center, 1637 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46203. (Food pantry, clothing pantry, child development and senior services and parenting classes.)
