Mary Jo Leppert

July 3, 1935 — June 13, 2021

Mary Jo Rosengarten Leppert was born July 3, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William Rosengarten and Dorothy Shipp Rosengarten. She went to join her beloved husband, Bill, of 62 years on June 13, 2021. Mary Jo is survived by her five children, Bob, Rick (Debbie), Joanna Stair (Ken Hall), Bill (Rhonda) and Jeanine Blastic and her brother Bill Rosengarten, as well as the apples of her eye, her 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The grandchildren were a source of joy for her and she loved taking them on all sorts of adventures creating memories that they will always cherish.

She was a devout, lifelong Catholic and member of Holy Name and later, St. Barnabas where she was a volunteer at vacation bible school and mercy meals.

Mary Jo had many interests, she loved sports, playing, coaching and watching. She and Bill had season tickets to the Pacers and Fever for many years. She opened the door for many young women in Beech Grove when she started the girls' basketball program. She mentored many, coaching softball, basketball and soccer. Mary Jo and Bill were extensive travelers, seeing as much of our world as possible. She also enjoyed playing the penny slots at the casino any chance she got.

Visitation will be Friday, June 18 from 10:00 to 11:00 followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis, IN 46217
