Mary Ann Hambrite-Squires

Mary Ann was born on August 12, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late R. V. McCray and the late Dessie Lee Rice McCray. She departed this life around her loved ones on March 6, 2022. Mary Ann attended Indianapolis Public School #9 and then graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1968. Mary took a few classes at IUPUI.

Mary Ann worked as a clerk at Indiana Bell (currently AT&T) for 27 years.

In 1969, Mary Ann married Huzie Hambrite Jr. and from that union, they were blessed with their only child Marlena Lynn.

In 1998, Mary Ann married her childhood sweetheart, Joseph, whom she has known for over 60 years. They have spent the last 23 years happily married.

Mary Ann was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where she also served on the usher board. She enjoyed traveling and occasional trips to the casino in addition to and being around her family.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her Father, R. V. McCray; Mother, Dessie Lee Rice McCray; Sister, Vera Boyd; and Brothers, Webster, Harvey, Dennis, R. D.

She leaves to cherish in her memory her husband, Joseph A. Squires; Daughter, Marlena Lynn Key; Sister-in- law, Lorrell Jean McCray; Sister-in-law, Irma Nell Pointer, Sister-in-law, Joyce Thurman; and Brother-in-law, Rev. Phillip V. Squires Sr.; Special Niece, Tisara Hardy and a host of family and friends.
