Mary Ann Cashen

Mary Ann (Byerly) Cashen passed peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2020, at the age of 62 after a battle with cancer.
Mary is survived by her husband Paul Cashen, daughter Carol Lynne Cashen, and siblings Jerry (Anne) Byerly, Dan (Rachelle) Byerly, Tom (Carol) Byerly, her twin Larry (Debbi) Byerly, Jim (Kathy) Byerly, Lynne (Dave) Cheslyn, Roy (Jenny) Byerly, and Jennifer (Chris) Mosier. She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Ann (McConnell) Byerly, and father, Lawrence Ellsworth Byerly.
Mary was born on May 5, 1957, in Castleton, IN. She married Paul Cashen in 1979, and they welcomed their daughter, Carol Lynne Cashen, in 1988. Carol Lynne remembers her mother as a loving, strong, faithful, and energetic woman.
Mary found her passion as a corporate trainer and excelled at presenting, learning and educating. She was beloved by all who knew her and cherished her many strong friendships. Mary loved traveling with her husband, and she treasured time with her daughter. She also enjoyed gardening, camping, and family reunions and gatherings.
A Celebration of Life open house is scheduled for Saturday, February 15, from 1:00-4:00pm at Castleton United Methodist Church (7101 Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis, IN). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the American Lung Association of Indiana at 115 West Washington Street, Suite 1180-S, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
