Martha Jane Shoobridge passed away peacefully under home hospice care on April 6, 2021 at the age of 81.
She was born in a small town in southern Indiana (Jasper area) to Arthur and Christine Fuhrman, the oldest of five children (Robert, Marilyn, Ronnie, Roger).
In September 1955 she married, Robert Eugene Shoobridge, which was the start of 65 years of a wonderful life together filled with love, achievement, and travel, both domestic and abroad.
She possessed many talents, but by far her major talent has always been her role as our loving and teaching: wife. Mother, grand-mother, great-grand mother and friend. She nurtured her four children and their families: Son: Richard Shoobridge (Kathy – Debra, Vanessa, Kimberly) and 3 daughters: Vicki Herring (Gary – Amy, Matthew), Rebecca Schlagel (Terry – Robert, Rachel, Christopher), and Deborah Mullins (Jay – Jesse, Cory).
She and her husband Bob have spent most of their married life in the Mid-west, but Bob serving in the Army, there were ‘visits’ to many other bases & states. Their current stay is in Greenwood, Indiana.
Martha has touched so many lives in a positive way and the outpouring of love and support for her family makes dealing with this loss much easier.
Service will be Monday, April 12 at the Indiana Funeral Care (Greenwood, In), where family and friends are invited to gather from 1:00 pm until 4 pm.
We love you Martha and pledge to carry on and spread to others the wonderful things you have taught us.
God Speed Martha Jane!
