Marjorie Ann (Grimes) Martin, Loving, dedicated, and self-sacrificing precious mom, 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born on Saturday, October 9, 1937 to the late Wallace O. and Matilda E. (Day) Grimes in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Marjorie attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Florence Fay School #21 and then attended Arsenal Technical High School until 10th grade. She went back and earned her GED later in life. She worked for Ransburg factory for many years and for Burlington Coat Factory for 19 years.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Ray Martin, Patricia Ann Nadeem and her husband Syed, Vickie Lynn Martin-Reel, James Darrell Martin and his wife Fannie, Deborah Kay Dufek, Terry Wayne Martin; daughter in law, Lois Stead; 13 adoring grandchildren; 19 sweet great grandchildren; and 4 precious great great grandchildren.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace O. Grimes of Shelbyville, Indiana, Matilda E. (Day) Grimes of Berea, Kentucky; son, Larry Jay Martin; siblings, Betty Matheson, Mildred Frederick, Marie Grimes, Henrietta (Bobbie) Mohn, Wallace (Junior) Grimes, George Day; and granddaughter, Amber Dawn Martin-Ellis.
We will miss her and how she always loved us more than herself. Her last wish is that all her children would come to know the Lord as their Savior.
Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2021 at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel from 11:00 am ~ 1:00 pm.
Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm
Burial to immediately follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
