It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved family member, Marie Hoeping. Marie passed away in Port Charlotte, Florida on February 16 at the age of 72.
Marie was a devout Catholic. She served as a Eucharist minister and she was the first one that the family would call if we needed special prayers. Marie’s pilgrimage to Medugorje had a profound effect on her. She made a separate trip to the holy land and that was also a memory that she cherished forever. Marie was selfless, loving, and kind. Marie was a member of Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church. She attended St. Phillip Neri Elementary School, Scecina Memorial High School, and she graduated from Howe High School.
Marie was a CPA and an appeals officer for the IRS. She retired in 2012 after 30 years. She previously worked in tax examination and appeals for the State of Indiana. A native of Indianapolis, Marie earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University-Kelley School of Business in 1979. After retirement, she worked in private practice representing clients during IRS or State examination and appeals, collection process, and preparing tax returns.
Marie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Nicole Nangle. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Nangle, her granddaughters, Tiffany Nangle and Jasmine James, her grandson Brandon Camphor, her great-grandson Cameron Nangle, whom she adopted, her great-grandson Nicholes Giavonni McGinnis, brother Richard Hoeping, and sisters Angie Nighswander, Dianna Hitchcock, and Jeannie Berghorn.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, IN 46037 on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, with the funeral Mass at 10:00 am.
