Margaret Francis (Sampson) Wade, age 76, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2021 at IU West Hospital. Margaret was born August 6, 1945 in Connersville, IN. She was the oldest daughter of 8 children of the late Amos Hershell Sampson and Beulah Agnes (Friend) Sampson.
Margaret grew up caring for her younger siblings on the family farm. At age 15, she married her neighbor and soulmate, Larry Wade. Margaret had a successful career as a Senior Citizen Director at the Salvation Army in Fountain Square. She also ran her own businesses teaching ceramics, sewing, knitting, cross stitching, and all things craft related. After retiring from the Salvation Army Margaret started her own church that Larry and her pastored for several years helping the homeless community. Margaret will be remembered for her unique sayings such as “if you’ve done the best you can, then that is the best you can do” or “I didn’t just fall off a turnip truck”. She will also be remembered for her powerful love towards God, animals and humanity. Margaret was a strong woman, a supportive wife, a caring mommy, and a loving Nanny. Margaret changed and touched so many people’s lives, and she will be missed by many.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Larry William Wade, her daughters Veronica (William) Kristopiet, Vonda Wade, Rhonda Jones, Venus (Vontres) Brents, Helen Wade, and Brianna Wade; her sponsored sons Sarfraz Khan and Amador (Erin) Velazquez; grandchildren Walter Kristopeit, Bailie (William) Helms, Emilie (Dakotah) Thomas, Larry (Jessica) Kristopeit, Michael Kristopeit, Alex Bentley, Lloyd Jones Jr, Clifton Jones, Kevin Howard Jr, and Estee (Gina) Howard II; great grandchildren Owen Kristopeit, Lilian Kristopeit, Ayden Thomas, Grayson Thomas, Kaylee Jones, Parker Jones, Emaree Howard, Emalee Howard, Estee Howard Jr (EJ), Julius Brents, Amor Brents, Lexi Brents, Olivia Brents, Rachel Arthur, and Andrew Arthur Jr.
Also surviving her are her sisters Ethel Priddy, Amey (David) Redding, and Fanny (Richard) Ottinger, sister-in-law Grenadine Sampson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Buelah Sampson; sibilings Andrew Sampson, Roberta Sampson, John Sampson, and Nerdra Faith Sampson; daughter Marigail Wolfe.
