Margaret "Peggy" Herrington, 72, passed away on August 2, 2024, in Beech Grove, Indiana. She was born on July 13, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa, to William and Viola Monaghan (Ackerson).
Peggy lived a fulfilling life marked by her quiet and unassuming nature, always leading with a servant's heart. She found joy in helping others and was assured by her faith in God throughout her journey. Margaret's proudest accomplishment was her enduring marriage of 47 years to Donald "Mark" Herrington.
In her leisure time, Peggy indulged in various hobbies and interests which included reading, sci-fi, exploring light houses, watching Star Trek, spending time with horses, mastering the art of cake decorating, and engaging in cross-stitch activities.
Peggy leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Herrington; sons, Jarrod and Shaun Herrington; daughter, Joanna Herrington; grandchildren, Logan, Noah, and Eliza Herrington. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill (Margie) Monaghan and Jim (Linda) Monaghan, as well her sister, Thelma (Frank) Morris. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Margaret will be fondly remembered for her contributions towards advancing Parkinson's research through medical studies as well as her active participation in the ESL program and choir at Westchester Evangelical Free Church in Des Moines, Iowa.
Services to honor Margaret's life will be held at Thompson Road Baptist Church located at 1700 E. Thompson RD, Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday, August 10, 2024. A viewing will take place from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
Margaret's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched with her gentle spirit and unwavering faith. May she rest in peace.
