Margaret Ann Ferguson

August 30, 1939 — October 12, 2020

Margaret Ann Ferguson (Maggie), 81 of Pittsboro, Indiana passed away on October 12, 2020 with her family by her side. Maggie was born August 30, 1939 in West Terre Haute, Indiana to Hilda & Otis Treadway.

On August 24, 1961, Maggie married Robert E. Ferguson (Bob) in Heidelberg, Germany, a union that would last until his death in 2004. They moved to Pittsboro, Indiana in September 1964 and resided in the same home for 55 years. They were known to cut a rug, enjoyed playing golf and traveling.

Family was especially important to Maggie, she especially enjoyed spending time and taking care of her Grand Children and Great Grand Children. She was very blessed with 4 loving sisters, 2 loving brothers and many nieces and nephews.

Maggie was active in the Phi Beta Si sorority in Pittsboro for many years. She worked at the Pittsboro Community Golf Course, Brownsburg Golf Course and Green Street Pub & Eatery. Maggie always had a smile and kind word for everyone she met, she thoroughly enjoyed her jobs working with the public and meeting different people leaving an impact on everyone she met. She loved to laugh and have a good time and did not know a stranger.

Survivors include her children, Pam (Kevin) Wellman, Kim (Mike) Volz and Jeff Ferguson, grandchildren, Ashley Reid-Cooper, Amber Alexander, Jared Alexander, Jordan & Courtney Alexander, Tyler Volz & Stephanie Quinn, Matt Volz & Bridget Hatter, Chris & Amber Volz, Stefanie & Eric Smith, Nick & Malori Volz and 14 Great Grandchildren. Her siblings Rose Berglund, Barbara (Jim) Kinkade, Judy Smith, David (Linda) Treadway, Linda (Mike) Shake and Bob Treadway that also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ferguson, parents, Hilda & Otis Treadway, grandson, Cameron Alexander and brother’s in-law John Berglund and Lowell Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Green Street Pub & Eatery, 911 North Green Street, Brownsburg, Indiana on October 24th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
