MALINDA PEARL VITOSKY, age 74, of Indianapolis died peacefully at home Friday, January 20, 2022. She was born July 3, 1948, to Charles C. and Goldie (Frakes) Graves.
She retired as a teacher at Western Boone High School and graduated from Indiana State University. It was while attending ISU that her husband, Stephen Vitosky, who preceded her in death, proposed in front of Dreiser Hall, returning each summer of their marriage to attend Summer Stage at the ISU Theater.
Malinda's love of reading the books of Craig Johnson, James Lee Burke, Michael Connelly, and John Steinbeck was eclipsed only by her love of local music, often sitting front row for performances by Michael Kelsey, Jennie DeVoe, and any artist that struck her fancy. A night of community theater and dining out made the week for the woman her husband called "the smartest woman I know".
Per her instructions, there will be no funeral and she will be buried alongside Stephen in Solsberry, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local humane society in her memory.
