Madonna Joyce Patrick, 80, of Plainfield passed away February 13th surrounded by loving family. She was born on April 24, 1942 in Flora. She was the daughter of the late Cleon and Leona Carter. Madonna graduated from Burlington High School in 1960. She married the love of her life, Dwight Patrick, on December 28, 1960. She loved traveling and spending time with family. She loved family celebrations, get togethers, and playing euchre. Madonna had a love for playing Bingo at the American Legion in Brownsburg. She loved the volunteers, players, and considered most of them family and friends. Madonna had 2 great grandchildren, Delanie and Blake that she absolutely adored and was so proud of. They called her “Great” and gave her so much love and joy.
Survivors include her children Douglas Evan Patrick (Pamela), Cheryl Ann Lawson (Richard), granddaughter Andrea Williams (Derek), grandson Brad Patrick, great grandchildren Delanie and Blake Williams, brothers Meredith Carter (Nellie), Myron Carter (Marilyn Clifton), Jim Carter (Judy), Jon Carter (Francine), Jeff Carter (Kathy), sisters Martha Grant, Myra Roydhouse, Janet Kniesley, JoAnn Oglageo (Michael), Jill Aydelotle (Scott), brother in laws Bob Wade and Dan Patrick(Twanna), sister in law Bernadine Lyndsay , and several nieces and nephews.
Madonna was preceded in death by her husband Dwight Evan Patrick, married 52 years, brothers Max Carter and Jerry Carter, and sister Marilyn Wade.
Madonna’s Celebration of life will be held in April at Ball Hill Cemetary.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at IU Hospitals for her wonderful care she received over the years.
