Lori Lee Dather

April 2, 1958 — April 23, 2021

Lori Lee Dather (Clauson), age 63, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully on Friday, April 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Lori was born on April 2, 1958 in Worthington, Minnesota to Paul and Mildred Clauson (Kunze). She was the oldest of six siblings and beloved as a daughter and sister. She greatly admired her mother, and even as a child, knew she wanted to be a mother herself. She raised five children and knew no better role in life. Watching the way she put others before herself, worked tirelessly to make sure those around her were loved and supported, and focused on that which was good, taught her children more than words could ever hope to. She cherished her family deeply. Lori loved the times when family could gather together and took great care to ensure her family knew Love. Her door was always open and her patience unrivaled. She was adored by her granddaughter Adelyn and was perhaps the only person who could match Adelyn's energy and enthusiasm for enjoying life. Her loving spirit and dedication to her family will not be forgotten.

For most of her adult life, Lori lived in Fishers, Indiana where she was a member of Fishers United Methodist Church. She served her church and community in many roles over the years, including volunteering with United Way ReadUP, Interfaith Hospitality Network and Come To Me Food Pantry. She was a graduate of Worthington High School, received her BS from Mankato State University, and worked as a Data Analyst for Hamilton Southeastern School Corporation. She enjoyed working at school sporting events even after her children were grown. She worked diligently and with a quiet grace in all aspects of her life. She loved hiking, camping, yoga, reading, watching basketball, and most everything else as long as family or friends were by her side. She enjoyed traveling with her friends to hike new trails as well as a walk around the neighborhood with an old friend. Lori rarely missed an opportunity to enjoy the sun and encouraged those around her to do the same.

She is survived by her mother, Mildred Clauson; children Whitney (Blake) Coker, Adam Dather, Timothy Dather, Kara (Alex) Boen and Joshua Dather; her siblings Randy (Shelly) Clauson, Kerri (Duane) Schramel, Gayleen (Phil) Jessen, Tamara (Bob) Schmidt, and Joel (Mary Kate) Clauson; and her granddaughter Adelyn Coker. Lori was preceded in death by her father Paul Clauson.
