Lindy Siefker

December 18, 1963 — July 6, 2022

Westfield, IN

Lindy Holt Siefker, of Westfield, IN, peacefully left the presence of her family and was lovingly welcomed into heaven by her Savior, Jesus, on July 6, 2022.  She was 58 years old.

Lindy did not lose the fight with cancer; she battled it courageously, never wavering in her faith in God or in her desire to serve and love others.  She embodied her favorite Scripture to the end: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11).  She didn’t complain about her diagnosis; she was grateful that God’s plans gave her five more years with her people than anyone predicted.  With her husband, Tim, by her side, Lindy spent the last few months of her time on earth ensuring that their five boys, three daughters-in-law, soon-to-be-son-in-law and soon-to-be grandchild were taken care of.  She also said her “See you later’s” to her close friends, knowing that they will see each other again.  Most expect to find her in heaven sitting in a beach chair by the ocean, laughing and telling stories about the people she loves.

Born on December 18, 1963, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to Dennis Holt & Marion Smith, Lindy graduated from Seymour High School & Indiana University with a degree in Interior Design.  Early on, Lindy met the Lord and discovered a passion for the performing arts, which she maintained her entire life as a performer, director and ardent theatre goer.  Lindy was able to combine those two passions throughout her life. She was a founding member of Christian Youth Theater in the Indianapolis area that positively impacted hundreds of children through the years.  Additionally, Lindy served as a Children’s Worship Director at Grace Church in Noblesville for 10 years, where her gifts for getting children connected to God and involved in performance were on full display.

For the past 20 years, Lindy took her talent on the road as she spent two weeks each summer as part of the children’s ministry leadership team at Northern Pines Family Camp in Green Lake, WI.  The Northern Pines community became a second family for Lindy, Tim and their kids, as well as a place where her servant’s heart could run free.  She was also a faithful ambassador for Northern Pines as she continually invited others to attend the camp so they could experience the love and hope in God that people found there.

Lindy also had a life-long love of baking.  So, in 2019, she launched Lindy’s Cookies, whose customized decorations soon became a staple at parties, celebrations, graduations, and even local farmer’s markets.  The goal was never to prosper financially; the goal was to simply provide “Joy in a Box,” which has been the motto since its inception.  This was another place where God’s plans to prosper Lindy were evident.

Secondly only to Jesus, Lindy’s greatest love of all was for her family, followed by her love for the families of her many friends.  She felt blessed and that it was part of God’s plans for her as she attended weddings for three of her children over the last 18 months.  Lindy never stopped caring, loving, and praying for her family, which brought her the greatest joy of all which could be seen in the constant smile on her face.

Lindy is survived by her husband, Tim, sons Nick Reith (31), Colin Siefker (28) and his wife, Morgan, Patrick Reith (28) and his wife, Charis, Mitchell Siefker (25) and his fiancée Joshua Williams, and Grant Siefker (23) and his wife, Harlie, her father, Dennis Holt and his wife Sandy, her mother, Marion Smith, and her husband Jim, and her brother Bryant “Bear” Holt, and his wife Jill, along with 10 nephews and nieces.  She is preceded in death by her brother, Mike Holt, who died in 2009.

The friends left behind who were touched by Lindy’s life are like Abraham in the Old Testament — as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. (Gen. 22:17).

In true Lindy fashion, there will be two Celebrations of Life held by her family — and these will be celebrations of a life well-lived. Lindy was very specific with her requests for the Celebration of Life services.  She has asked that it not be a sad funeral, but a real celebration, more like a beach party than anything else, which is fitting because that’s what Heaven is having for Lindy right now.  With that in mind, Lindy asks everyone to wear bright colors and be prepared for lively worship.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Jenelle Miller for her care of Lindy over these last nine years.  In lieu of flowers, you may honor Lindy’s legacy by supporting the ministries that helped shape her journey and were close to her heart.  Those ministries include: Grace Church in Noblesville (https://gracechurch.us/give) Grace Care Center (https://gracecarecenter.us/carecenter/donate) and Lindy's summertime home, Northern Pines of Minnesota (https://npines.org/donate).

Well done, Lindy.  Well done.
