Linda Kay van Vierzen (Pohl), 73, of Fishers, IN, passed away on August 12, 2023 surrounded by family. Linda was born on August 14, 1949, in Saint Vincent, Minnesota to the late Leonard and Darlene Pohl.
Linda was a kind, caring, and generous woman who will be remembered for her loving nature. She was an amazing grandmother to her three grandchildren. She in enjoyed watching sports, reading, and playing cards and Bingo with friends. Linda dedicated over 2,225 hours of her time as a faithful volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital in Fishers, giving back to her community and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
In her professional life, Linda had a successful career in education. She served as an Elementary School teacher at various schools in Manitoba, and later worked as a Registered Orthopedic Nurse for Sutter Health in Sacramento.
Linda is survived by her loving son, Michael van Vierzen of Fishers (Christy), and will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Nathan, Grace, and Henry. Linda is also survived by her siblings Barb (Don) Stewart, Donna (Ron) Krystik, Joyce (Dwight) Casson, Rick (Denise) Pohl, and Lori Pohl (Paul Shesterniak).
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arie van Vierzen, and her sister Leslie Pohl.
A visitation to honor Linda's life will be held at Harry W. Moore Chapel, located at 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm on August 22nd, 2023. During that time, a brief memorial service will be held at 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Linda's memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, a cause that was close to her heart.
Linda will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and dedication to helping others. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the love she shared with her family and community. May she rest in peace.
