Linda Tischer

Linda Kay Tischer passed away, at the age of 78, on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at her home in Indianapolis.

Linda was born in Galion, Ohio on February 16, 1944 to the late John and Ruth (Beck) Thew.

Linda grew up in Morrow County Ohio and became a Registered Nurse from the Akron School of Nursing in 1964. She met her husband of 57 years, Larry Tischer in Ohio. Early in their marriage, his Air Force career allowed them to live in numerous places, where Linda was able to pursue varied aspects of nursing. For most of their marriage they lived in Indianapolis, where Linda continued to work in nursing until her retirement. Her hobbies included travel, playing cards, and a variety of craft endeavors, most notably weaving rugs on her loom.

She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt. She is survived by her husband Larry and their daughter, Kali Tischer, in addition to her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her two brothers (Jim and Bill Thew) and her two sisters (S. Jane Cole and Nancy Thew).

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Friedens United Church of Christ, 8300 South Meridian St. Indianapolis, IN. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm, followed by the service at 3:00pm.
